How to reset password of HP 2000 Series Switches

HP 2000 Series Switches have RESET or CLEAR button that resets the switch to its factory resetting. Here are few steps for factory resetting (keep one thing in mind that your switch should be plugged in and running while factory setting):

• Locate reset button on HP 2000 Series Switch ( usually this button in beneath a hole on the back or front of switch).

• If switch bears both CLEAR BUTTON and RESET BUTTON, the you should go for CLEAR BUTTON.

• Now straighten the paperclip.

• Ground it by touching with some metal.

• You have to insert  the paper clip end into the clear button hole( while doing this you will feel the button inside the hole slightly depress.

• Now press and hold Clear or Reset button for 5-15 seconds ( this will clear any stored password on HP 2000 Series Switch).

• Now remove paperclip.

• The switch will resume normal operations once it completes its diagnostics under the original factory setting.
